Quarantine greeting from the Mondo Girls ❤️

Quarantine greeting from the Mondo Girls ❤️

From all of us to all of you.

What are you doing here in quarantine? Have you been given extra time to spend in a different way than usual?

During this time, like so many others, we have a lot of extra time to fill. That is why we have decided to show you what we do these days, maybe you can be inspired, or you can tell us what you do now that everyday life looks a little different than usual.

Mondo Madness cake

Here is a greeting from our Cecilie, who spent one of her quarantine days baking delicious cake!

She is happy to share the recipe with you all:

Cake:
250 g butter
200 g sugar
5 egg yolks
250 g flour
1 teaspoons baking powder
150 g planed chocolate
150 g coarsely chopped hazelnuts
Juice of about 2 oranges
The fox should be of about 2 orange

coating:
125 g icing sugar
1 / 2-1Sap from orange
1 / 2-1Reven orange peel

Turn the oven on 170 ° hot air.

Butter, egg yolks and sugar are stirred together. Flour mixed with baking powder is added a little at a time while stirring.

Once the dough is stirred through, add the chocolate, nuts, orange juice and grated orange peel. Butter a springform pan or other cake tin with butter, then pour the dough into.

Put the cake in the middle of the preheated oven, for 45-50 min.

When the cake is done, and cooled a bit, you can coat it with icing stirred by sifted icing sugar, orange juice and orange peel

Enjoy!

Cecilie's home training program

After the cake, you may have more time left, and why not start a little home training? Cecilie shows here her exercises to keep the muscles strong while we are under house arrest. She herself says that it is nice to start the day with a little training, it gives a good start and you feel fresh afterwards.

Cecilie likes to train on time, not only to be tightened up, but also to keep her heart rate up throughout.

Each exercise is repeated three times for 30 seconds each, so it's great to have the stopwatch ready.

Today's training is especially for the abdomen, with a final exercise for the arms, you know: 'Waving ham'.

The program is composed of 7 exercises, and can be performed virtually anywhere:

1) knee hugs 3x30 sec

2) inverted v plank 3x30 sec

3) knee to elbow 3x45 sec

4) side plank 3x15 sec

5) reverse crunches 3x30 sec

6) arm / leg raises 3x30 sec

7) bench dips 3x15 sec

You can always adjust time depending on how much you train normally. I have set the time here for someone who does not train regularly and may be a beginner.

Line reads Murakami

At Line, for once there is time to put your feet up and read a good book! Line likes to read, but with full-time studies, assignments, exams also naturally the job at Mondo Kaos, it may well be difficult to find the calm to, with a clear conscience, just set aside time for reflection. Right now she is reading 'Chronicle of the Woodpecker' by Haruki Murakami.

The novel is a myriad of stories and narratives, mystery and reality that weave in and out of each other, but the starting point for the story is the main character Okada who has quit his job at a law firm. He now cares for home, cat and wife, who is the editor of a publishing house. Suddenly one day the cat disappears without a trace, and shortly after also the wife ...
There is silence and sunshine flowing in through the window. That's not the worst thing.

Line must let us know, the novel was good!

Kirstines on Laundry & Film Noir

In Kirstine's home, the quarantine is to save old dresses that just need to be repaired, and hand wash the most delicate cases. A good tip is transparent dishwashing detergent. Let it sit a little on the stubborn stains and wash so -it takes most, and does not damage the fabric.

When everything is washed it's time for a movie! The current occupation is Film Noir. On Netflix you can e.g. see 'The Stranger' from 1946 with i.a. Orson Welles and Loretta Young. The old movies are partly really well written and then you can only faint over the wardrobes and hairstyles!

At filmstriben.dk you will find 'Detour', which is definitely worth seeing. If you can borrow them from your grandmother or similar, then these are also good entertainment: 'The Maltese Falcon' with Humphrey Bogart or 'The Big Sleep' also with Humphrey Bogart. 'The Lady in the Lake' is also good, and very different, as it has subjective camerawork. You just have to get used to it, but it's a fun effect!

Stines Playlists for the Quarantine Age

Stine's quarantine greeting comes to you -of course- in musical form. Music is a huge part of Stine's life, both privately and as a DJ.
When Stine is out and DJs, it takes place analogously, with old, vintage vinyls from the 60s, and absolutely without the use of computers and playlists.
Stine focuses in the quarantine that she has mis time to immerse yourself in your records. She finds music she hasn't heard in a long time. She researches and listens to music all day and in that way gets new inspiration for playlists. Here she shares Mondo Kaos customers with all his musical wisdom and heart's blood, so you get two playlists to which you can enjoy yourself or hold a house party.

Mondo_kaos_playlist_1

Bubblegum and beat

The first playlist is a mix of famous hits and most of the songs are from the 50s - there are also a few from the 60s. The second playlist consists primarily of music from the 60s - and here it is much more soul and beat it is about. There are definitely a lot of classics you can sing along to, but also a few unknown but fantastic melodies from that time.

Then click in (on the pictures above) and hear Stine's fantastic playlists!

Have you been inspired? Cake, strength exercises, books, music, old movies ... Hopefully, for a short while, you have got your mind on something other than the media news feed.
Of course, we hope that everyone is healthy and well, that you stay that way, and that we will soon be over the worst - together, separately :-)

Loving greetings,

Team Mondo Kaos ♥
